UNITEK Multi-Card Reader

ShutterMaster Pro Makati will soon open at its new location. I needed a multi-card reader that I could just leave there to lessen what I have to haul each time I visit the branch.

I contacted Handy To of Abacus Computers (3F VMall, Greenhills, SJ, MM) and asked him what he had in stock. He sent over a UNITEK multi-card reader (SRP P850.00). It supports USB 3.0 and is backward compatible to USB 2.0 and 1.1, has a data transfer rate of 5Gbps, plug and play and can be used for Windows, Linux and Mac OS machines.

It can read CF, SD, Micro SD cards and also supports SDXC.

Handy pointed out that one of its features was that the UNITEK multi-card reader allowed copying from one memory card to another without the data having to pass through the computer. This is possible because the UNITEK multi-card reader has a big internal memory buffer.

Multi-card readers in general don’t have a lot of wow factor when it comes to looks. But it always pays to have a multi-card reader that works and delivers as promised.
