Here’s a common scenario for me. I’m at a venue where I have to give a talk. I’m announced as the next speaker and I go up in front of the audience and discover that the LCD projector is too far away for its cable to be attached to my Dell mobile workstation. We either move my worktable for the lecture or the LCD projector and the screen and waste time in front of the participants.
Or, I’m on location shooting and I need a convenient place where I can place my Dell mobile workstation.
I’ve talked with other photographers who have had similar past experiences as mine.
I think I have a solution to this problem.
Benro has a product which is one of the modular accessories of their Benro SystemGo line. It’s called the GoPlatform (SRP P5, 950.00).
It can be attached to any tripod that has an Arca-Swiss head. The Benro GoPlatform can also be attached to a tripod plate or light stand using the bundled reversible spigot which has a 3/8” and ¼” threaded holes.
The GoPlatform is fairly lightweight and weights 1.85kg and has an elastic band to help keep your laptop in place. It had no trouble accommodating the size of my 15.6” Dell mobile workstation.
You can also attach to it an accessory which can hold either a portable power bank for your mobile device or a portable hard drive.
There is an option to mount both a camera and the GoPlatform on a Benro SystemGo tripod side by side if you use a Benro GoCoupler 2 (SRP P1, 950.00).
The bottom of the GoPlatform has multiple holes to keep it light and to keep your laptop well ventilated.
The Benro GoPlatform is available at most photography stores which carry Benro products.
